09 | “Gracious”
On the 9th day of Christmas, I’d like to acknowledge Harrison Burgess. You treat everyone with the highest respect. You elevate, you encourage, you show grace. You are gracious. I haven’t known you long, but what I have seen in you is God’s grace flowing through you. Thank you for your kindness, support, and your investment of time and attention to elevate things toward excellence. Seems like everything you put thought into, and everything you touch, rises toward excellence. That’s God’s gracious hand through you.
Today’s Reading: Luke 1:52 “…He has lifted up those of lowly position”
A Simple Thought: God is gracious. Have you been humiliated? Has anyone ever talked down to you? Dad left you? You ever been cheated on? Lied to? Have you ever experienced the betrayal of a friend? Have you ever walked into a room and realized that they were talking about you behind your back before you arrived? Have you ever felt the sting of devastation? Mary says God takes those of us who have been pushed down, humiliated, hit rock bottom, and he lifts us up. He takes those who are considered “less than” and he elevates them. He gives grace to those who have been disgraced.
