Isn’t it beautiful outside? Over the years I’ve come to learn that rain or shine, it’s beautiful outside. Thunder & Lightning? Beautiful. Clear Carolina Blue Skies? Beautiful! Dark, gray, storm clouds creeping overhead? Beautiful!
Why? Because all weather is the handywork of our creator.

“He causes the clouds to arise from the end of the earth, makes lightning bolts accompany the rain, and brings the wind out of his storehouses.”

-Psalms 135:7

I’ve always considered myself a four seasons guy. I truly enjoy everything about the weather in North Carolina, even the unpredictability!

I love the hot sun and the warm breezes of summer. I love the colorful expression of dying leaves in the fall. I love the bitter cold mornings and the occasional snow-mageddon that shuts down the streets of our unprepared city. I especially love the smell, fresh air, and budding flowers in the spring, as it is the best picture of NEW LIFE.

Sometimes praising God for the weather is easy, other times it requires intentionality. Ultimately, it comes down how I view it. God is the God of all weather. He carefully ordains every ray of sunshine, drizzle of rain, bolt of lightning, and falling snowflake. When I consider the weather, I consider the awesome providence and sovereignty of God.

This is true no matter what comes your way. The highs and lows, light and dark, easy and difficult seasons of life are a constant reminder of God’s providence and creative power. In all things, we give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. (Psalm 107:1)
