In the verse of the day today, Jesus had just broken the law.
Some of the pharisees were charging him with the crime of breaking the Sabbath, and worse, claiming to be equal with God. Instead of backing down, Jesus intensified His claims to be God.
In John 5:24, Jesus says “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.”
He is saying there are only two categories of people: those who have eternal life and those who are spiritually dead and under judgment.
Which Category are you in?
Let’s have a hard conversation
The statistics on death are quite impressive: one out of one people die. You would think that everyone would be very concerned to prepare for what lies beyond death, but many of us just push it out of our minds and focus on other things that really won’t matter on the day of death.
We think about what car we will buy one day
We deeply consider our university of choice and save our money in preparation
Some of you have planned every detail of your future wedding before you even have a fiancé.
We think about where we might retire one day
But how much thought and consideration do we give to our life after death?
My encouragement to you today is to give it some thought. Ask yourself, “if I died today, am I confident that I will spend eternity in heaven?”
Question of The Day:
When was the moment you surrendered your life to Jesus and trusted Him with your salvation? I’d love to hear your spiritual testimony.
