This is part 2 of “What makes a mature disciple?”

A Maturing Disciple follows Jesus UNCONDITIONALLY.

Everything around you can change, but it won’t change you following Jesus.
It doesn’t matter if the Bible is taught according to your learning style, it doesn’t matter if the church seats are uncomfortable, or if the church you are part of is aligned with the latest trends.

More importantly it doesn’t matter if you are being beaten daily for choosing Christ. It doesn’t matter if you are physically suffering, because the call is to follow Jesus with everything we are.

Matthew 16:24 ‘ Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”

2 Timothy 3:12 ‘ Now in fact all who want to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”

A Mature Disciple follows Jesus UNCONDITIONALLY. You aren’t just going to church because your friends are there, you aren’t just worshipping because you have a “feeling” and you aren’t just following Jesus when it’s comfortable.

You thirst for Gods presence. You hunger after righteousness. You hear the voice of the shepherd, and you know his voice. Nothing will prevent you from pursuing Jesus.
